Colax is a gentle bowel cleansing herbal formula containing Cascara, Dandelion, Yellow Dock, Dill seed and Chamomile to help maintain healthy intestinal function. These herbs have been traditionally used in herbal preparations to:
- Support healthy bowel function
- Assist in stimulating the bowel in order to support healthy elimination
- Cleanse the lower digestive tract
- Help relieve occasional gas, and associated temporary mild digestive discomfort
The combination of herbs in Colax provides a range of compounds including several essential oils (containing monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes, and especially a-bisabolol), flavonoids, anthraquinone glycosides, sesquiterpene lactones, phenolic acids and sterols.
Suggested Usage
Adults: 1 tablet 3 to 4 times daily, or as directed.

Cascara stem bark 12:1 extract 93.33 mg
-from Frangula purshiana stem bark 1.12 g
Dandelion root 4:1 extract 93.75 mg
-from Taraxacum officinale root 375 mg
Yellow Dock root 4:1 extract 93.75 mg
-from Rumex crispus root 375 mg
Dill (Anethum graveolens) seed essential oil 15 mg
Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) flower essential oil 2 mg
Other Ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, maltodextrin, sodium starch glycolate, silicon dioxide, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, dibasic calcium phosphate dihydrate.
Warnings
- Contraindicated in blockage of the gallbladder and in known allergy to plants of the daisy family.
- Use only with professional supervision in gallstones.
- This product contains Cascara (Frangula purshiana). Read and follow directions carefully.
- Do not use if you have or develop diarrhea, loose stools, or abdominal pain because
- Cascara may worsen these conditions and be harmful to your health.
- Consult your healthcare professional if you have frequent diarrhea or if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or have a medical condition.

I have relied on Colax for more than ten years. It has allowed me to be regular without stimulants or harsh laxatives. I will say that I notice that it isn't always reliable, and I believe that may have to do with quality control in the manufacturing of the supplement.
