This product is contraindicated in an individual with a history of hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.
Curcumin has been shown to reduce the therapeutic efficacy of cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan) in animal studies. In vitro research revealed that curcumin decreased camptothecin-induced death of cultured breast cancer cells. Curcumin might also interfere with the absorption and efficacy of the chemotherapy drug irinotecan, used to treat colon cancer. The concurrent use of curcumin with these agents should be avoided.

The arthritis foundation's website has more info, but here's the deal: You need to take these when eating something with fat and/or black pepper to maximize absorption. I use them daily for mild-moderate arthritis pain in my hands and knees. I noticed improvement within 2 weeks.

I started taking this for arthritis of the feet a few months ago, omg I’m am amazed at how well this supplement works. 10 times better than ibuprofen! I take two pills in the morning with breakfast and a fish oil supplement and my pain has all but completely gone!

I walk five miles a day and before taking this pill, each time I moved my right foot, I felt pain. I take three pills a day and rarely feel any foot pain. This pill also greatly helped my brother and sister-in-law, whose doctor recommended it.

I've had osteoarthritis in my left knee and hands, since forever. Or when I was in high school, but it worsened over time so I tried a variety of non-helpful things. Including glucosamine/chondroitin (that DID work for our elderly dog).
I got a book by a PT on Amazon, and the exercise gizmos. And did those faithfully till I bought this.
I expected nothing. And I got so much more even though I only took 1/2 a dose (to protect tummy and any reaction). Then it happened.
As I pushed up off the floor one day after yoga stretching---I realized, my hands didn't say, "ouch". And let it go. And then I opened something that often I couldn't. And then I took the water to boil and my right hand didn't feel like it might drop the kettle (good thing not to drop with a glass kettle).
So maybe, it IS helping? Anyhow, signed up for the subscription of this and read more. Apparently I chose wisely, MERIVA processing is said to help with absorption.
I'm on a full dose now.
