DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) is an abundant, naturally-occurring hormone secreted by the adrenal glands. One of more than 150 hormones produced by the adrenal glands, DHEA is the most abundantly produced. After being secreted, DHEA enters the bloodstream and travels throughout the body where it enters cells and is converted into male hormones, known as androgens, and female hormones, known as estrogens.
