G.I. Hist Support is a formula designed to assist patients who have trouble processing external sources of histamine rich foods and nutritional elements. This formula is especially helpful for those with genetic weaknesses in A01C (Diamine Oxidase), the main enzyme responsible for the degradation of ingested histamine.

The active ingredient in G.I. Hist Support is porcine-derived diamine oxidase, and research suggests that DAO derived from porcine kidney appears to have identical action to DAO derived from porcine intestine.

Common symptoms of histamine intolerance include:

  • Headaches
  • Skin irritation
  • Dizziness
  • Accelerated heart rate
  • Difficulty regulating body temperature
  • Nervousness
  • Nausea and/or abdominal cramps
  • Flushing or redness of the face/skin
  • Nasal congestion, sneezing, difficulty breathing

An impaired histamine degradation based on reduced A01C (Diamine Oxidase) activity and the resulting histamine excess may cause numerous symptoms mimicking an allergic reaction. The ingestion of histamine-rich food or of alcohol or drugs that release histamine or block diamine oxidase may provoke stomach issues, headache, flushing and other conditions in patients with histamine intolerance. Diamine oxidase from porcine kidney may help assist with these types of issues.

Histamine is not only produced in the body but is also present in many fermented foods, such as sauerkraut, sausage, cheese, yogurt, and alcoholic beverages. Tuna, olives, spinach, eggplant, avocados, tomatoes, cherries, and citrus fruits are other histamine-containing foods which may cause GI irritation or histamine related reactions.

GI Hist is Amazing!

by Katrina the Mystery Of all Mysteries

My whole family, including father and mother and brothers, have our noes run when we eat certain foods. I have sneezing fits when I drink a few sips of beer but after taking the GI Hist... I have none of those symptoms anymore! It's so crazy! Then after getting hives from a new hormone compound, and Benadryl had no effect on them... A random decision to try the GI Hist ... Stopped all of the itching! Amazing!

Help For Histamine Intolerance!

by Leopard Lady2 -

I have been taking this product for about two weeks, one before lunch and one before dinner, along with quercitin once a day before breakfast. I am also taking Zyrtec, hydroxzine and raniditine for histamine allergy. I believe I have both an allergy and intolerance, because the prescription drugs haven't been helping very much. I still avoid high histamine foods and I was still breaking out a couple days a week! These capsules have helped a little. I really can't afford to take two at each meal, they are too expensive.

Works great

by Kk

This product has helped me with my food allergies. I tend to have severe post nasal drip & other allergy symptoms when I eat food that I am sensitive to. And with post nasal drip I get bronchitis. I would cough all night during my sleep time. Chronic bronchitis during your sleep time is no joke. It's painful & not to mention that if you can't sleep uninterrupted, that ruins your day. In my opinion, this product has to be taken at least 10-20 minutes before you eat to be truly effective. And taking 2 capsules before meals 3 times a day( breakfast, lunch & dinner) can get expensive. That's 3 bottles a month. But, at least my food born allergies are down & I have been getting sleep.

Good Ingredients

by SheRae -

This was recommended by my FN for my gut histamine and it works. I just wish it wasn't so pricey and would leave out a couple of the added ingredients!!
