- Manuka (Leptospermum scoparium) honey is made by bees who pollinate the manuka bush, a plant native to New Zealand. It has traditionally been used by the Maori people as a topical application for minor burns and wounds.
- Manuka honey has been found to be rich in an antibacterial compound called methyglyoxal (MG), which may work synergistically with the honey's natural antioxidant properties to support wound healing and tissue health.
Like other honeys, manuka honey may be used to flavor food and drinks. It does have a stronger flavor due to the high activity 15+ rating, which indicates the high MG level, or possible antibacterial activity. This potency is maintained even after boiling or heating.

Best medicinal honey I have ever used!

I have been using this honey for medicinal purposes for years and it's worth every penny. It's not sweet like other honey. It has its own unique flavor. I use it specifically for colds and a sore throat. Immediately upon feeling under the weather, make a cup of hot tea (I prefer lemon-ginger) and then grab a teaspoon of the honey. It's thick and won't slide off the spoon. Lick the honey and sip the tea until both are gone. Repeat as needed. For me, the relief is amazing and fast! I will never be without it! It lasts a long time and never spoils.
