Over a decade of rigorous clinical studies in Europe and elsewhere have established SAM-e (S-adenosyl-L-methionine, an essential methylation and transulfuration cofactor) as a useful tool for supporting normal mood regulation, and joint and liver health. SAM-e increases cell membrane fluidity, up-regulates neurotransmitter receptor number, and enhances neurotransmitter receptor affinity. SAM-e supports healthy joints both by increasing the number of articular chondrocytes, and by stimulating the synthesis of protective sulfated proteoglycans therein. SAM-e also protects synovial cells against pro-inflammatory prostanoids, and blocks enzymes that degrade cartilage. SAM-e is a precursor of the critical antioxidant glutathione, a key molecule in the detoxification process in the liver. SAM-e Plus contains the tosylate form of SAM-e as used extensively in clinical trials, and includes several other ingredients found in studies to support and facilitate these functions. SAM-e Plus tablets are enterically-coated, essential for preventing demethylation in the stomach.

Suggested Usage

I like this product because it has the B vitamins included so you don't have to take another pill with your sam-e. make sure you take it with food to avoid stomach upset.

HONESTLY IMPROVES MOOD & ENERGY LEVEL

My holistic doctor recommended this particular brand and dose for my teen. I used to take a different brand...but decided I'd try this one myself. About two weeks later my teen lost much of her ""angst"" and I found my mood and energy level to be much improved - probably because of both the improved harmony in our home & the effectiveness of this brand of SAMe.

I've tried other Sam-e products for years...but the Karuna SAM-e Plus is THE BEST!!! My Holistic Doctor...who's also our family doctor...recommended this brand about a year ago - 2 in the morning, 2 in the evening - which I thought was a lot - but it's the right dose for me - you should check w/your Dr for your right dose. There's a significant improvement in BOTH mood AND energy - maybe because this brand adds in B vitamins and folic acid...don't know...but it's the only one I'll ever buy from now on! I've really noticed the difference with and without.

Easy to take and recommended by my Doctor - I notice an improvement in mood and attitude with work, family life in general! The Dr suggested take 2 in the morning & 2 in the evening - I thought that might be excessive - but for me 4 did the trick after trying 2 to 3.
