Jarrow Formulas® SAMe 200 provides a full 200 mg SAMe (net yield) from 400 mg of SAMe tosylate disulfate. SAMe 200 is manufactured under low temperature and low humidity and is enteric-coated to ensure a biologically active product.
Found in all living cells, SAMe is a metabolite of methionine (an essential amino acid). SAMe is a chiral molecule consisting of two form (S,S) SAMe and (R,S) SAMe. The biologically active form is the (S,S) structure, while the (R,S) structure is biologically inactive. Jarrow Formulas® SAMe is made naturally by microbiological fermentation and then specially processed without chemical solvents to preserve 68-80% (S,S) SAMe the highest active level available.
SAMe supports the production of healthy connective tissue through transulfuration. In this process, critical components of connective tissue known as glycoaminoglycans (GAGs), including glucosamine and chondroitin, are sulfated by SAMe metabolites to yield sulfated GAGs, such as glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate.
SAMe methylation reactions are involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters such as L-DOPA, dopamine, and related hormones, serotonin, epinephrine and phosphatidylcholine (a component of lecithin).
SAMe metabolism supports the synthesis of glutathione (GSH) and glutathione-dependent enzymes (glutathione peroxidase, glutathione reductase and glutathione-S-transferase), which are components of the body's endogenous antioxidant network and important for liver function, including phase II detoxification.
Suggested Usage
Take 1 tablet 1 or 2 times per day on an empty stomach or as directed by your qualified healthcare professional.

Other Ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, mannitol, coating (hypromellose acetate succinate, stearic acid [vegetable source] triethyl citrate, riboflavin), glyceryl behenate, magnesium stearate (vegetable source), silicon dioxide, sodium starch glycolate.
Contains No: wheat, gluten, soybeans, dairy, egg, fish/shellfish, or peanuts/tree nuts.
Warnings
Do not use if pregnant or nursing.
Individuals with Parkinson’s disease, bi-polar disorder or manic depression should not use SAM-e.
Individuals using prescribed medications such as antidepressants, including Selective Serotonin Re-Uptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) and MAO Inhibitors or any other medication should consult a physician before using.
May cause gastrointestinal upset in some persons. If you experience discomfort, discontinue use.
Do not exceed recommended dose.
Jarrow Formulas® SAMe 200 is foil blister-packed to maximize stability and safety. Do not use if outer seal of blister pack is broken.
Keep out of the reach of children.

I've been using this for my dog for about maybe seven or eight months now she has an enlarged liver and the enzymes work off the charts. I get it checked every three months and she seems to be doing pretty good I keep her on it once a day as Maintenance in the beginning she was having seizures until she started taking this and no more seizures

I'd taken SAMe off and on for years- recently I'd been taking a different brand and I thought I'd pay a little more (not much) and try Jarrow's brand for a month instead. WOW. Seriously, after about a week, I could tell a huge difference in my mood. So worth the little extra- it was a night and day difference, like a cloud lifted. I gave some to one of my close friends and she had the same results. Jarrow is the real deal, can't recommend their supplements highly enough.

Packaging problems

I have been using this product for several years, 2 tablets per day. It definitely helps. If I feel the darkness coming on I'll take 4 tablets. It kicks in pretty quickly. Lately, though, I have been experiencing issues with the packaging. The tablets stick to the blister packing material when I push them through. It's happened my last 2 shipments. I am considering switching to a different brand. Has anyone else experienced this? Thank you.
