For my Dog

by Tuffys mom

My best friend Tuffy was diagnosed with a liver condition. My Vet gave me your Silymarin and he is doing fine.(2 years later) After my vet sold her business, the new vet told me he no longer carried this and gave me something full of additives and artificial flavors. I refused to give them to my long time friend and went on the search for the original. I am SO thankful to you and your product. I believe your Pure Silymarin has kept him healthy, and for that you have my very heartfelt thanks.

Too expensive

by Virgil S.

This product wasn't any better than the cheaper milk thistle products I've used in the past. Pure Encapsulations is pure marketing strategy.

It works

by K. Johns -

I started giving this to my senior dog a couple years ago when his liver levels started to rise dramatically. I did a lot of research on Silymarin and figured I would try it. It worked to bring his liver levels back down to normal. He is now 13 yrs. old. His Veterinarian told me that as dogs age, their liver levels will rise normally over time. She told me that she believes this Silymarin has kept the rising of these levels down very well and has told other senior dog parents to try it also. Veterinarians suggest 5 mg. per pound of body weight. He weighs just under 50 lbs., so I give him 250 mg. per day (divided by half a dose in the morning and half a dose in the evening). They are capsules so I just break the capsule and sprinkle the powder on his food. There is no taste to the powder (yes, I have tasted it), so he has no trouble taking it that way. It does not cause him any stomach upset or other noticeable disagreements with his system. I will continue to use this product and highly recommend it.

Silymarin (milk thistle) by Pure Encapsulation

by Willis

I like this company because it doesn't have a whole lot of ingredients. It does prove helpful for the reason I need it. Perhaps readers will look up what milk thistle may be able to do for them.
