Butyrate is a short chain fatty acid (SCFA) that has been combined with calcium and magnesium. It is made in the lower colon by bacteria and taken up by the colonocytes, the cells that line the colon. It then becomes an important food for those cells. Lacking good bacteria in our colon can lead to an insufficient supply of butyrate.
Butyrate may help to scrub and clean the liver, the gall bladder, and the biliary tree. It may also help to clean the bowel, control ammonia, remove ‘renegade’ fats (the very long ones that accumulate with age) and lowers the expression of inflammatory immune markers called cytokines.

Take 2 capsules daily, with food or as recommended by your healthcare professional

Recently I've 'discovered' functional medicine for myself. Doc is fantastic - finally somebody listening and giving me effective advice. She recommended this product to help boosting regeneration of the colon & GI system. It is a great product - effective and does not contain allergens (which I have plenty). Along with a proper diet, low FODMAP in my case, is a must have. I'd definitely recommend it.

After having a positive test for ""leaky gut"", this is one of the supplements I was prescribed. At first, I did not feel well taking the 3 new supplements and stopped. I then was given a test for SIBO and after testing positive and being treated for it, I was able to take the Butyrate again. Butyrate is a short-chain fatty acid and is not only instrumental in digestive health, but also cleanses the liver, gallbladder, and biliary tree.
